Expectations and Realities: Nicaraguan youth navigate gender, sexuality, HIV, and more
This 2008 publication presents an analysis of the most compelling patterns that have emerged from data collected from more than 3,000 Nicaraguan adolescents and young people interviewed three times between 2003 and 2005 using questionnaires based on more than a decade of research about the gaps and tensions between knowledge, attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors related to identity, gender relations, intimate and interpersonal relations, sexuality and sex. The study presents information disaggregated by sex, age, and municipality, and complements ENDESA studies’ data.
